Default 1996 ES300 Aftermarket Head unit help?

I bought a aftermarket head unit that came in the mail last week. this is not the first head unit i have replaced.
I recently replaced my mothers 2006 jetta 2.5 stock stereo with a aftermarket oem remake with Nav, BT, Iphone hookup/Indash usb port.
I also replaced the head unit in my old Jeep Cherokee along with multiple others and had no problem understanding the wiring for either vehicle set up.

Where I ran into a problem is at the speakers hook up. the dash kit I purchased only has RCA connections for FL, FR, RL, RR speakers which I can not seem to get working on my aftermarket stereo that has the same connections.
Wondering if anyone can give me some insight on how this type of connection is different from straight up wiring or how the shared - wires for all 4 speakers makes a difference in the wiring process?

I also called O'Reilly's & AutoZone but they both carry the same wiring harness for my vehicle and both employees were semi-surprised when they saw the harness had an RCA connection.
Both these retailers were out of stock and would have to special order from another state if i chose to purchased from them. it would also be $10 more expensive than purchasing online.

Link to the Dashboard Kit I purchased along side my stereo.

Any insight on how I should resolve this would be most welcomed.
Thanks!

I'm not sure what you mean by shared wires? The adapter you have is made for the auxiliary output of the head unit which hooks into the existing external amplifier. Have you hooked up the amp power on lead?

I used the wiring harness and connected all the available wires.

and what i mean by the - wire is shared is that it uses 1 pin on the harness.
never seen that before.

The external amp needs a + voltage to turn on, that will have to be connected to the head unit. That wire on a Toyota/Lexus of this era is usually pink/light blue.

The amp is connected to the amp auto turn on wire.
Amplifier does in fact turn on, but when i connect the '-' wire to the amp non of the speakers play audio but they are silent, when I disconnect the '-' wire all the speakers work, play audio, but they emit a whining noise, and when I accelerate they whine more and more.

Any idea why this is?
