2000 ES300 with codes P0303 and P0302
I got misfire codes from cylinder 3 and cylinder 2. I thought i will first resolve the cylinder 2 issue by changing the ignition coil. The problem didnt go away and P0302 came back along with P0303. I tried to swap with a working coil from cylinder 4 and the problem stayed with cylinder 2. I also swapped the spark plugs with cylinder 6 and the problem stayed with cylinder 2 (P0302). Every time i reset the codes the P0303 comes first and the P0302 comes after 10 to 15 miles. The car just crossed over 200K miles. I have been having issues with most of the sensors and have replaced the bank 1 OCV, bank 2 O2 sensor and crank position sensor (local mechanic did this as the car died on the road). The car was running fine for about 2K miles before these misfires started. I also recently replaced the PCV. The valve cover gasket was never replaced and i see oil leaks on the side of the engine.. If i do the oil change every 3K miles i never had to add oil.
So my questions are:
1. Can cylinder 3 issue trigger P0302 ? Since its a pain to replace the coil or spark plug near the firewall i have been deferring it. As i mentioned above the P0303 comes first and the P0302 shows up later.
2. What other issues can cause issues with 1 cylinder on different banks ?
3. If i have to check for sludge on bank2, do i have to drain the coolant or any other fluid before i remove the valve cover ?
thanks.

No i did not swap the VVTi. But my bank1 solenoid is less than 10K miles old. I had problems with that and at that time i got misfire from all the cyclinders (1,3 and 5) from that bank. Somewhere i read that could be fuel injector. I checked the ohm value on the bank 2 and the cylinder 2 looks fuel injector looks good.
