Hey Guys,

The SRS/Airbag light is currently on our ES330 and I'm a little concerned considering it means all the airbags are disabled. My wife drives this car around with our little 5 month old baby, so needless to say, NOT GOOD.

Ive jumped the correct pins on the OBD2 plug and pulled a code 32.

1. Does anyone have any information with regards to what this code is? ( ive emailed airbagsystems whose stated its "32 RH Side Impact Air Bag Sensor Assembly Malfunction" )

2. Does anyone have a page from the FSM that would tell me where the sensor assembly is, and what the expected resistance values for it should be ?

3. Anyone know of a good resource to purchase a full Factory Service Manual ? All my searching has produces a ton of BS websites and id like to get the real thing first try.

I'd start with the easy stuff. Disconnect the battery for 15 mins or so and get under the seats. Make sure the wiring (usually yellow for airbags) is connected securely, and the terminals are not corroded. Clean them with sand paper, a pencil eraser and contact cleaner and firmly reattach them.

Its a common problem for cars with seat air bags to have the wire become loose under the seat because it moves back and forth.

Reconnecting the battery should have cleared the airbag computer of the previous codes. If the problem returns, you'll know its something inside the seat or the sensor on the B pillar.

That's actually the first thing i checked. All looks good. No obvious damage or loose connections.
I had the negative of the battery disconnected for about 5 mins, but the code was still present.

If it is in fact the RH side sensor, that plugs into a separate wire harness independent of everything under the passenger seat. B-pillar surgery may be required... I've found several FSM pages all pertaining to the pinout of the plugs, where the sensor is, etc, but nothing that describes the expected voltage or resistance under nominal conditions. I suppose it might be possible to swap the sensor from the right over to the left and see if the failure follows the sensor, but its a little scary to be playing airbag sensor swap when those are the things that actually determine if a bag will be deployed.

Ill disconnect the battery for longer, pull some connections and look for oxidation on the plugs and pins. If that doesn't work, ill dig into the B-pillar. Ill snap some pics along the way and update the thread as I go for posterity.

So i pulled the pillar plastics and removed the seat belt pre-tensioner as the sensor.
Checked connections, wires, etc, all looks good. Reassembled everything ( after partially disassembling the pre-tensioner to unwind it and reinstall ) SRS light still there.

Ive got a buddy who works at the local lexus dealer as a service manager, so im going to let them hook er up and tell me exactly wtf it is.

Took it to my buddy, they hooked it up real quick and cleared the code. Free o change. Light hasn't been back on since.

We are thinking when the mother in law had it a few years ago, she hit a curb or something that registered as partial crash data.

I have a 2005 ES330 and seatbelt light is on. Dealership said code is B1787 and whole passenger seat requires replacement at $4000. Any ideas to reduce this cost?? Thanks.

Start with tracing the seat belt wire from the receptacle to the plug under the seat. It might have pinched between the seat rail and got damaged. Measure its continuity at the plug with the seat belt out and with it engaged.

It might have been caused by a wire temporarily coming loose throwing the airbag light, which stayed in memory. I'm surprised though the memory didn't clear after disconnecting the battery while you were poking around.

I have the SRS codes B0100 & B1180. From what I understand it has something to do with the driver steering wheel air bag? I have checked the connections and everything seems ok. Any clues on what else I should check?

I'm getting a B1000 code on my 2010 GS350. I've been told it's the airbag module. I've changed 2 so far with no luck. Is there anything else anyone can suggest me checking
