Question Es300 2002 what is this part?

Hello all! im new member here so please help me out. so basically this afternoon, while i was replacing my engine air filter, i saw this part on the wall next to the engine. i just picked it out easily like it was there for nothing. i wonder what it is. does anyone know?

That looks like the strut that helps hold up the intake plenum. One bolt goes in the intake, the other into the cylinder head.

so that strut from one of those right? is it dangerous without the part?

I concur, it's clearly the 'strut' that supports the upper intake plenum.

.... it's not a danger to not have that in place.

It does support the upper intake plenum, prevent flexing, and though that prevents the intake tubing from cracking (to much flex), and vacuum leaks.

Nice spotting. Refit it when you get the chance, sometime soon. It's not urgent.

It is the plenum stay.

Was the part just sitting in the engine bay loosely? A past mechanic changing the spark plugs or rear valve cover in the must have left it disconnected because the bolts are tricky to put in.
