So, if the "mechanic" who replaced the A/C compressor pulled the fuses, your MIL would have had the CE light on since the work was done, but you say the light just came on. Can you determine if the "mechanic" who replaced the VVTi sensor actually did replace it? There is more to this story than we are getting.
Here is a good trouble shooting guide: I would guess all of your codes stem from the open A/F sensor heater circuit.

Wow. I'm stunned that the fuse is missing. And you are only now getting error codes? BTW, I checked both my 99 ES300s. Both have the a/f fuse but do not have the a/c fuse. Is that normal?

The AC and timing belt was replaced by the stealership when the previous owner had it over. The timing belt was replaced at 101,000 miles. The AC compressor was replaced at 170,000 miles. The car currently has 201,000 miles. The missing fuse for the AC slot is okay. After looking closer there aren't any metal contacts in the port. I think it's an option for something. The missing fuse in the heater circuit though is quite interesting. I couldn't say if the mechanic who replaced the vvti sensor touched that or not. These codes aren't new though I should say. The light has been on for a month or two. I just found out when they mentioned it and figured I'd help out.
I took the car for a spin to reset the monitors. The first pending code was the P0171. Minutes later a NEW CODE popped up. P0420. I couldn't get the C and EV monitors to reset though. I'm going to clean the MAF now.

Do you know how to clean the MAF sensor? If not, search for tutorials with pics. What you are cleaning are the heated wires deep in the body of the MAF sensor. You must use MAF cleaner and be careful not to damage the wires. There is also a brown tear drop shaped bulb which measures intake air temperature (IAT). Many people mistakenly think this bulb is the MAF sensor.
