Cabin Air Filter Not Where Everyone Says
Hello All!
I have a 2001 Lexus ES300. I'm trying to replace the cabin air filter, but after pulling back the carpet on the driver's side by the gas pedal, it does not look the same as all the other pictures I've seen, both here and other places on the internet. In the spot I have two metal hoses running horizontally where everyone is saying the filter should pull out/in.
I also don't think it's behind the glovebox, as I have the built in CD changer in my glovebox.
Any ideas of where the cabin air filter will be?

It is behind that carpet, farther than the gas pedal. Maybe yours has been removed and nobody put in a replacement. Post up a picture of the carpet pulled back and I may be able to direct you to where it should be.

It's there! ......... I had a hard time finding mine too. Pull the carpet back and look as far as you can go toward the firewall next to the gas pedal. The door has a "catch" on it and it swings out.

Thanks Hyper, you kept me from tearing up my carpet and most my hair out trying to find it!! I found it. Pretty darn dirty. I blew it off with my compressor until I can make it to autozone for a new one.
