I do have my old turn signal switch which had the following issue. If I didn't click the turn signal very gently it wouldn't make contact and the turn signal wouldn't blink. Instead it would make the clicking noise very fast but no light. I changed the part myself.

I have cleaned the contacts on my old turn signal switch. They were covered in grease.
