Any trick to getting at the low beam headlamp bulb?

One of the low beam headlights has been intermittent turning on - not burned out, but not consistent lighting. I looked at it yesterday and I could see it was askew in the mount and touching the reflector.

I was busy w/other things but looked at the connector, all looked good but it was not apparent to me how it was disassembled, and when I grabbed it, it did not want to budge in either direction. Any tricks to getting it out before I mess w/it today? I had a horrible experience last summer replacing the upper side marker light in the assembly so figured I'd ask ahead this time around.

I looked up the part number on these, in case it was broken. The high beams were all normal numbers (9005), but the lows were weird numers I'd never seen and varied by manufacturer (eg. GE 755). is it something unique?

It's relatively easy. I replaced my HID bulb a few months ago on the passenger side. Nothing needed to be removed, however I elected to take out the overflow coolant reservoir so that I had a better view of the clips holding the HID bulb in place.

Does the low beam halogen also have clips or is it a simple twist and lock?
