Default Just bought 03 es300, tips?

Hello Lexus! My first Lexus ever. I use to drive a supra but now switching over to comfort and luxury.

Any tips and advice about this vehicle? I know it's a very reliable vehicle I would like to know a few more things.

-oil you use? How many qts?
-Any basic but important maintenance to do
-Any common problems
-feel free to share and tips thank you !

03 es300 only 65k miles

Check out this thread for some used car tips, particularly Part 6 after you buy:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/es3...-used-car.html

Make sure the timing belt has been changed. Your car hasn't met normal mileage (90K miles), but its definitely past its time limit. Changing the water-pump (as well as a full coolant flush) is also recommended while doing the timing belt.

Keep up with oil changes every 5K or so (depending on your driving & oil type). You can use either synthetic or conventional 5W30 oil. Change out the PCV valve when you do spark plugs.

There are no major known issues with the 03 ES, other than the transmission's weird shifting pattern.

For more general maintenance items, check out this thread, which is compiled for the Camry, which is mechanically similar to the Lexus ES:

Enjoy your Lexus, and post up some pics!
