Default Price discrepancy in dogbones

Hello. My motor moves like 3 inches when shifting from park to reverse. Probly time for a mount. OEM Lexus on eBay is like $85. Napa and autozone is $90. eBay generic is $18. Does the quality matter that much here?

I believe it does. Some people have mentioned that cheap dogbone mounts result in more vibration.

I went with OEM, and got one for $62.70 on eBay from seller "lexusofnorthmiami".

Yike. Don't want vibration. I'll go oem. After you changed it, how much movement do you get, say, shifting from park to reverse

About an inch, give or take.

Be sure to inspect all of the other mounts, I've been told, if one mount fails the others will likely follow due to the added pressure.

Great. so for I am not off to a good start with this car. I've had it 31 days and am dealing with an exhaust leak where the oem part is $1,300 and I replaced steering line.... Dealt with a clunk in the steering column and now this. Yikes.

Thanks for the heads up

What's an easy way to check them?

I inspected an OE one, a $20 one, and an expensive one (NAPA) and could find no difference.

I put an inexpensive one in mine last year and it works perfectly - I get MUCH less than an inch of movement if someone shifts while I observe it. If it's still moving that much, I suspect other mounts are bad, too, not just that one.

Personally, I would cheap out on the dog-bone mount just because its so simple to change a new one when it goes.

However I think OEM is the wiser choice for the rear and front engine mounts.

I used a $20 one from eBay and mine has been holding up just fine. I don't think the quality is all that different, it's more of a personal preference.

Look at Sewell Lexus parts. $1,381 for the y/flex/cat pipe if you go oem which I will not

Fyi: just put in an $18 Chinese one. Less vibration than I would expect for a v6 at 12 years old. WAY tighter/smoother shifting. Great $18 investment

Bring out your dead! Hey acarapela, how is the dogbone now that you've had it for almost a year? I still haven't done mine yet.
