heard a loud whisle like when you let air out of a balloon, lifted hood & all the water was out of the water reservoir,but still water in radiator (full). Loud "metal to metal" noise coming from pulleys area. no water leaking under car???

that sounds like a serious water pump failure, but that does not explain the loss of water.

something is very very wrong.

take the cover off the timing belt area and look at water pump. tow to a garage if not able to R/R yourself.
