Strut Tower Bar Pix
Took about 10 minutes to install. I have only driven it around the neighborhood once. I do notice a slight difference in the steering response. Note, however, that this is my wife's car and my Acura is noticably stiffer and more responsive (I'm modded) than the Lexus so she may notice more of a change. No clearance issues at all. Good mod for ~$20 shipped.

that was basically my stb. gawd i MISS my 1mzfe!!!!!!!!!!! esp. seeing it in that color w/ the same bar!!!!! just about brings tears to my eyes....oh yeah, if you have it put on right, it will significantly reduce body rolls, most noticeably on slight uphill turns (i.e. freeway entrances). good luck!

Yeah, I was almost certain the 2002 and up had them stock 
, so I was puzzled by why you wanted one, StevieJ. Is this the autobacs strut tower bar from eBay? If you other 1st Gen. owners are happy with them, I'll pick one up, too. Is anybody having clearance problems when shifting into reverse? That's my only concern after hearing MeZoom's story.

here's the scratch on the top part of the bar. it happened cuz i couldn't position it's height exactly right. Too low and it hits the plenum intake in some gears. too high and it scrapes the underside of the hood (actually, the black hood lining...you can see it's geometric pattern imprinted onto the bar if this was in person).

i just realized great news. my bar, while it initially looks exactly like SeattleES's, is different. it looks like His bar's angled portion, where it meets the mounts, is more sleek. mine was just plain fat and rounded the whole way through. If these are made by the same people, I suspect that they might have "fixed" the clearance problem....waiting to hear back from SeattleES.

answer this for me: is the bar portion circular all the way around?? or is it tapered "flattened" towards the ends??

The bar is actually tapered throughout it's length. There do not seem to be any clearance issues. However, I do hear a squeak when going over bumps at lower speeds. I assume I may need to remove the bar and line the area with teflon/grease. Maybe it just needs to settle in...

agree. i had the squeak also in the front. not in the back cuz those were replaced. strut arthritis, so to speak.
