Default --Adding rear a/c vent--

i don't always have people in the backseat but with my little baby and wife sitting in the back they don't get cold or hot as i do in the front. The es330 was the first es with rear vents so i was thinking it there a way to mod a vent in the rear?

Everything is possible, but it will be a lot of work. You would need to run a pipe through the center console and splice it into one of the front vents.

Work I don't mind. Comes down to money spent. If it'll be cheap I'm in. I can take out the coin holder above the cupholder in the rear but how thick would the pipes be? What type of material?

If your car is similar to my 2001 es300, it should have an air outlet on the floor under each front seat. Those outlets are for the rear passengers.

I never paid much attention to them, so I don't know if they're only for heating, or for AC as well, nor do I knw which mode the climate control needs to be in for them to blow air.

Have a look, and if it's there, you can experiment a bit.

Good luck,

Phil

Phil they are there but the flows weak...it'll work on a/c since it'll hit your feet and lower your body temp. I wouldn't know how to tap into those vents since there long and rectangle shaped.

There is a product called noggle which looks like a house that clips on a front vents and it brings air to the rear...50 bucks for that unit but its in the way...
