Default Sensor error message despite replacing

Despite replacing the bank 1 sensor 1 up-flow oxygen sensor in a 1997 Lexus ES300 with a single piece sensor and harness, my check engine light still keeps coming on after multiple resets. The computer did properly recognize when I replaced the knock sensor. Any suggestions as to why I'm still getting the same reading after replacing the proper sensor? I also tried two (2) OEM versions, which didn't work. That's why I purchased the more expensive original equipment version. Other restorations coming along quite well

What DTC are you getting? P0130, P0133, P0135? Had you even tested the old oxygen sensor to make sure it was actually bad before replacing?
