Default Acceleration (Loss Of Power And Hesitation) Engine Check Light

Hi lexus club ! I'm new to this forum. So I just brought a 1993 lexus es 300 automatic has about 180,000 miles on it from a guy across town. It has a engine check light but I took it to a mechanic to get it diagnosis. He said it had a digital problem and when it accelerate it loss of power or hesitation up steep hills. Its been annoying because I press down the accelerator as hard as I can. It doesn't wanna kick in gear. I don't want make road hazard by driving slow. Also the car ash tray charger slot doesn't work either which is minor. I honestly don't wanna get rip of the car because I actually like it because I highly believe it has minor conditions. Does anybody know what I should do or recommend

Digital problem? What does the code say? You trust your mechanic?

"it had a digital problem and when it accelerate it loss of power or hesitation up steep hills." <-- worst least helpful diagnosis ever.

you definitely need another mechanic, it would be best if you write down a short sentence or two of what they say the issue is, no offence but it sounds like you are not a 'car person' and that might be why the explanation was 'watered down' some.

Sounds like the first mechanic needs to lay down the crack pipe.
