Default 95 ES300 Problem

Hello everyone, I'm currently having problems with my car. Two weeks ago i was driving on the road for about 5 miles and suddenly my car's engine died on the road. The car can crank, but the engine will idle for about 10 seconds before it dies. The engine dies immediately if i press on the on the gas pedal or if i switch from park to any other gears. Also the battery light and low oil pressure light comes on after the engine dies, but they are off when engine idles. They haven't been on when the car was driveable. I towed it to the local mechanic and they couldn't find any troubleshooting codes. The car has 250k miles on it.

man that could be so many things. Fuel pumps dead, leaking injector, failed oil pump/engine seizing, it could honestly be so many things.

I had same issue yesterday morning. I drive 1997 Lexus ES300. I was driving at 45 miles , Check engine light showed up and before I realised I could not accelerate speed and the engine died. I tried to restart and it did not start. I could not even pull over to the left side. I was blocking morning traffic (around 8:30 am) on left most lane. I towed it to local mechanic. He took whole day ,could not find any troubleshooting codes and could not find what is causing it. Today he called and said timing belt is broken and it costs $1300 to replace. On top of that if there is any damage, add couple of hudreds to it. Car has 176k miles on it. I am going donate to junk yard I guess.
Talk to you mechanic and tell him to check if timing belt is broken

Seems like a fuel problem if it starts and then dies out a few seconds later. Fuel pump may have to be replaced.
