Default New Lexus Owner! Super excited to get to work, just wanted to say hello!

Greetings!
Well, it's happened. Two weeks ago, my cousins moved, and I begged them to let me take the 98 ES300 which had been sitting in their driveway off their hands! 160K miles, but surprisingly well taken care of. As a long time car lover (builds include e90 m3, 04 WRX STi, and 240 Z) I'm looking forward to owning and working on my very first car. Previous owner had replaced the head unit with a Clarion NX500, and so far the only things I've done are give it a good cleaning and replace the front/rear speakers with Alpine 6 1/2" woofers. I have been offered a set of Bremmer 19" rims from a friend, just need to test fit them to make sure they don't rub or look ridiculous before I actually put them on the car. Any suggestions for what you guys think I should do? Expect I will be doing the majority of the work myself, I'm a bit strapped for cash and I love a good project.
Thanks!

(I'll put some photos up when I get home)

What do you mean by builds?

Various projects I've completed for a friend of mine who can afford such vehicles. For example, we supercharged the m3 with a vf engineering vf620, brembo brakes (6 piston calipers up front), and a catback exhaust from magnaflow with titanium tips (I'm sure I'm forgetting some smaller things). Would be happy to post photos of these any time, luckily I wasn't the one paying for the components.

Welcome!

Think about the 19" wheels, if ride quality is a concern. Also see that you are in New York so be prepared to replace wheels and tires when one gets damaged, as there's no cushion left. I used to have 18s and went for some nice 16x6.5 RSX 5 spoke wheels, which give a great ride and are stronger to boot (higher load index on the tires). Fat tires for the win. 17 or 18s might be better unless you can get those 19s for a song..

Definitely agree with you, I'd probably go for 17s but I've been offered the rims free of charge as long as I cover tire charge. Probably going to take them, provided they don't look terrible without the car lowered or rub the ****** out of my fenders

So you know your way around cars, but never owned one? How did that happen?
I would also say to be cautious with 19" wheels, they also may look ridiculously oversized for the 3ES. Post some pics already!

Because I'm dead broke, and I'm 17. I've loved cars since I was a small small child, I've never missed the auto show, I spend my free time reading about engine design etc etc etc. There is nothing I love more then the mechanical perfection which is the automobile, it's a genuine marvel of modern engineering

Yeah, I'm thinking that as well about the rims. Will post the pre work photos tomorrow when it's light again, and then the fun begins!
