Talking Just saying Hello!

Hello ClubLexus! Just bought my first Lexus! 2001 Lexus Es300 pearl white, 149k. So far it's a really nice car, I'm a long time BMW owner and decided to change it up with a Lexus. My biggest complaint so far is the sloppy suspension, I got some 17" wheels I plan on putting on, I want to put some lowering springs with new struts and possible sway bars... Any suggestions on brands? Websites? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for looking!

Looks to be a great car, but i do not think that these wheels came with the car, this car should have come with 16s, these 15s came on 97-99, and only a few 00-01 with cloth seats.

Correct. These wheels are 15", I don't think they were factory either but... This car is leather seat no seat heaters and no sunroof, so I think this car didn't come with a whole lot of options. Which then makes me think it came with 15" wheels. Either way I got 17" wheels I'm putting on soon, and I won't have to worry about sunroof leaks!

Very clean car! Those wheels are definitely the '97-'99 15" style( I've owned both a '97 and currently have a '00). I had no idea the '00-'01's came without a moonroof?! I've only seen no moonroof on a '97-'99. Looks like you've got a rare bird!

Those wheels are from a 1997-1999 ES300. They are factory wheels but you would do better with a set of 17" wheels. I put IS300 wheels on my 1997 and needed 5MM spacers to make it work.

It WILL improve the handling, no doubt.

Good luck.

PS-The moonroof was part of an option package for that car. You could buy it without!

I've owned many different series bmw's, great cars, maint and parts breaking on them is very costly. You can have a BMW with 100k and a Lexus with a 100k sitting right next to each other and 10/10 times the BMW will have ton of leaks and look run down, the Lexus will still look brand new. I've always liked Lexus cars, just hadn't found the right one for the right price till now. Lexus cars hold there value a lot higher than BMW.

I figured the no moonroof was rare, it was a Vegas car, wondering if it was ordered no moonroof, no heated seats and 15" wheels. Because the spare tire is the same 15" wheel.

I have a set of 17" is250 awd wheels, ordered spacers and then test fitting. I will post pics later.

I'm interested to see the 2IS wheels on a 3ES. Best of luck with your new car.

Well I had bought a set of 17" IS250 wheels, didn't work out the way I wanted, they didn't fit in the rear without spacers, then I would probably have to roll the fenders.
Lost interest.
Then... Came along a set of 18" Toyota Avalon wheels that have same offset and fit perfect!! Super happy with them, even the "L" center caps fit!!

Yes very hard to find in good shape at a reasonable price. Waited along time and came across this one. The other thing I found is all the nice lexus cars out there, people don't want to sell them, they hang onto them for a long time, so when a nice is up for sale you gotta grab it!

Wow, those look great on there. I normally would think 18's are too big on the 3ES but those look really nice. Almost looks 'factory' with the L emblems!
