Default Vin78's ES300

Hello fellow members, this is Vin 78. I am posting under a different username because I no longer have access to my old account because its linked to my old email.

I am here to post the state of my old ES300. This car has changed hands several times over the years and the condition has been on a decline ever since. The current owner is my good friend's sister - its her "first car" and from what I've been told she has allowed the damage to decline the most.

I occasionally see it from time to time. The pictures below is when I visited my father's repair shop for repairs and saw it there, needless to say I was very saddened.

The last time I spoke to her she said its ready do go to the junkyard :/ and she's ready to buy a new car.
She said that she would pass it along to another sibling but they seem not have need for it. I would offer to buy it back but I don't have a need and its a bit too painful to even attempt to rebuild it, perhaps not even worth it.

Anyhow, thank you for reading. I just thought I would pass the story of this car along.

It's painful seeing your "old love" in that condition. Those damages are simply jaw dropping.. How in the hell were they able to ruin it in such horrific ways?

If you're able to, I'd try retrieving the front lip. It seems like there's still some life left before it gets scrapped.

Some people just don't care when it's not their passion and/or their money. I'm pretty disappointed in my friend who allowed this to happen but I can't say much because it's not my car.

I honestly don't want any part of this car.

Seeing such a nice ES in that condition upsets me. That car was beat on to say the least

Goddamn! You & your car were legendary on these boards back in the day... I remember this car very well, a lot of it was my inspiration when I still had mine...

Sad to see it like that, I can totally relate to you on 'not wanting anything to do with it', which is why when I sold mine, I told the buyer to take EVERYTHING! I did not want anything left over from it...

With that said, it wouldn't be too much to fix it since parts are so abundant for these for next to nothing with pick'n'pulls getting many in all the time...

It would be amazing if someone from CL would buy it and restore it! Maybe you should post a classified or something to try and drum up a member, or a member's friend to join CL and restore this [once] prime example of a PROPER ES300!!

Some people simply don't deserve to own a car.

Does anyone have pictures of what it used to look like? That is a sad sight.
I wouldn't be surprised if they haven't done any maintenance to it (sludge galore).

edit: found this. It looked so clean

Most women don't give a rats *** about their cars. My sister ran hers completely out of oil, she said she didn't know she was supposed to check the oil. Had the car for 4 years and never checked/changed the oil. She got what she deserved.

I wouldn't say that it's gender specific, I've met plenty of guys that were clueless about cars.

Sad to see your car like this, I remember always looking back on your cars pictures years ago and thinking how ridiculously clean it was. It's hard to see something you put a lot of time and effort into just get destroyed. I saw my old car the other day, and luckily the person who owns it now, after a year, is still keeping it in good shape.

Wow, what a car it was before! Sorry to see it that way. Really if the car still runs & drives good most of that stuff is an easy fix. There is a link on here to upgrade & replace the wiper stalk. New wiper blades are easy and putting a new pillar moulding is a snap as well as the rear panel on the front seat. The worst from what I can see is the cracked windshield. Someone with a little $ and willingness could bring her back life!

I agree. The physical damage looks easily repairable with parts from a pick n pull scrapyard.

The only thing I'd be concerned about is the engine - what shape is it in? Does it start and run? Has it been maintained? If the engine/tranny is still in decent shape, I'd restore it.
