A friend of a friend has an 00 Platinum for sale with a clean car fax, service records from the dealership and with only 95k miles! It looks pretty immaculate from pictures.

I can't find any 01 Coach editions but plenty of regulars. Would there be any reason to get a 01 regular instead of the platinum?

platinum or coach edition are rare to find. Only 10% are made each yr. So go for the platinum if you cannot find a coach.
