One of my wife's best friends has over 356,000 miles on her 2002 Lexus ES300. She is the original owner.
Still on the original motor too.

Nice! I saw a pic of a 3ES that had 1 million miles, no idea on what type of repairs though.
I think this 4ES is one of the few that has miles that high, they are still relatively "new" for spaceship mileage.
Original transmission on it? That's the only thing I worry about, especially with that dumb DBW programming.

My 97 ES300 hit +280k miles on original transmission, engine, starter, PS pump, alternator.
Bare in mind that we have salt on our streets / highway which makes rusting common.

Damn that sucks, car looks totaled. Good news is finding another one won't be hard I hope you get fair market value from the other persons insurance. On that note call the other persons insurance don't wait for them to do it, open a claim. Or your insurance company might do it for you.

If you plan on buying another 4ES can you negotiate to keep the car? Would be a nice source of parts, take what you want/need and sell the rest for scrap. Losing out on your hard work sucks, but consider if you were paying a shop to do it all that's where people lose their shirt.
