Default strongarm hood strut/support issues?

i have a 95 es300, and i installed the strongarm hood struts/supports but the hood didn't seem to sit right so i kind of slammed the hood and forced it but it (by putting butt to hood and bouncing on it)
but it still didn't sit right..

the next day, i open my hood and tried to remove the strut/support to maybe reinstall it, and actual strut/support broke off the hinge

btw i used the aftermarket hook bolts or whatever the strut attaches into, because i literally couldn't remove the oem ones, maybe if i cut it i could have had access to it

so i contacted the seller, and he sent me a new pair, and i tried installing and adjusting about 10 times, but the hood still doesn't sit flush..

anybody else have this issue? any fixes?

thanks

Sounds like you damaged your hood. May need a trip to the body shop. Did you really force the hood by bouncing your butt on it? If you did, it is the dumbest thing I have ever read on a DIY automotive forum.

The struts may be rated for 250 lb but the hood isn't. You most likely sprung your hood and/or your hood hinges. Good1luck with that.
