Trunk Light Fuse Size
My trunk light on a Lexus ES300 has blown. I went to a auto store and they need the amp size. I took in the old fuse and they sold me a 3 amp and it blows them.
What size amp do I need? I can't find it in the owners manual. It is located on the top on the trunk (not the lid and about 6 inches from the lid edge and in the center

You may want to include the year of your ES next time.
No circuit in the car runs on a 3 amp fuse. The lowest I believe is 5 amp.
If I'm remembering correctly, thats the dome fuse? If so its a 7.5 amp fuse.
I can look it up later to be sure but i'm pretty sure its on that circuit. You can check which fuse you pulled on the back of the coin drawer can't you? I think it also says that size there too but I could be remembering wrong.

Wait, are you talking about the "fuse" behind the trunk light cover? That's not a fuse but a lamp.
