Default Knock Sensor Problem

Hi,
2000 ES300 both knock sensor code is genrating CEL , I have replaced knock sensors , knock sensor harness, checked the contineuty of wire for knock sensor to ECM( contineuty is ok) , also checked shileded negitive wire (neg power is present) in harness, engine runs smooth only the transmission does not go to overdrive , i also replaced the ECM same codes came up for knock sensors.
Please help me out.

Did you buy original Lexus/Toyota knock sensors, or after market ones?

After market ones seldom work properly in this car.

I second PFB.

I think your problem is coming form the sensors themselves. Did you test the knock sensors themselves to see if they might be shorting themselves? Take the ohm meter and check if there is continuity from the wire to the sensor body. Obviously there should be none. Another thing to check would be are the sensors installed tightly to where they won't wiggle around causing them to throw a code? Lastly, the ECM could be at fault, however, without knowing exactly what happened to begin with I wouldn't condemn the ECM first as its the more expensive to replace.

Lexus knock sensors self generate a low voltage signal when they sense engine knock or ping. They might be functioning as designed. Exactly what codes are showing up?

Had exact problem. Just replaced the two sensors with known good factory sensors and problem solved. I have a ecu with chip for sale if anyone is needing one. Aftermarket sensors were the problem.
