Default Vaistech iPod input and Satellite Radio quit working

A few years ago had an aftermarket iphone adaptor put in my 2004 ES330 to be able to play music through the radio, I think the unit was a Vaistech. It would play.music and charge the phone but was not controlled on the Navigation unit.

A few weeks ago the unit, after playing fine for a few years, started to give off static when the phone was connected. So I took it into the shop that installed it and told them I needed a new cable and they agreed.

When it was originally installed the unit had a cable run out of the dash. To change input I pressed the AM/SAT button and it went from AM>SAT>SAT2>SAT3. SAT & SAT2 were both satellite, AM was AM radio and SAT3 was the input for the phone.

When the installers tried to replace they able to get satellite radio. They tried another cable then another brand and still the same. They sent the radio to a local repair shop and tied again today to install it but the same result (do not think the local repair shop did anything).

After the shop put the radio back in the Navigation, AM and FM work but not the Satellite functions. Nothing happens when I press the SAT button

Has anyone experienced this and if so, what was the fix?

Alternatively, is there a place anyone would recommend to buy used OEM parts?
The shop said to buy where returns were accepted as they are unsure where the problem lies.
They think it is the head unit as the cable plugged into standard RCA plugs.
Or, is there a repair shop to be recommended?
The local repair shop here in Nashville TN said they could replace it for about $500 but would basically just send it to a repair facility and they would swap it out with a refurbished unit.

ANY advice is greatly appreciated. The car has 213,000 miles and runs like a top but really would like to get my sound back.

Do you have Sirius or XM?
Do you know what model Vaistech you have - SL2, etc.?
Is Vaistech box accessible (in glovebox, etc.)?
Sounds like Vaistech adapter may need a reset or Satellite Emulation is not set for the adapter.
I don't know a heck of a lot about it, but if it's a Vaistech adapter, they have owner manuals on their website support section, that tell you how to do those setup things yourself.
