Anybody have a solution instead of replacing the charcoal canister with a new one?
I've had a CEL on for a while for the charcoal canister in my 2001 ES300. I forgot the code, but my brother (who worked at Lexus for many years) told me that code requires to change the charcoal canister.
The thing is around $300. I don't want to pay that for some stupid part that probably doesn't even do anything.
Did you guys find any solutions to fix the issue without getting a new replacement?

You will need to get the code. It could be a vacuume switching valve, and nt the canister itself. On your model you can get the VSVs separately. It could also be a vacuume leak, a defective as cap, electrical problem etc.. Getting the code is mandatory.
A smoke test will also help pin point the problem.
