Default Hood Creased?

So I took my 1993 ES300 in for new struts. Installed they quote me $900. (This is with 300 off because they botched a shock job on my 68 chevy pu) Anyway, I wait 2 weeks, call back and a different kid quotes me 700 with a full alignment, balance and rotation. I agree and drop off the car.

They then call me to tell me the boots? around the struts need replacing, will be 120 I say ok.

I go in ready to pay 820 minus a discount, when all is said and done I have all new struts, alignment, balance and rotation completed for $600. They seem in a hrry but they are closing.

I get home happy that it doesn't sound like I have a hostage attemting to escape in my trunk anymore and when I I get out and look at the hood I see two crease marks.

Now this is indeed a 93 but they were not there before and the paint has flaked away from the fold points, I open the hood and the (whatever you call the sheet metal that support the hood underneath) is broken on both sdies. I am lucky I didn't go to open the hood and open just the first half.

Anybody else have this happen to their hood. Chevy trucks in the 80's had an issue like this and they sold supports you could put on. I can get a hood from the yard but it doesn't match and even though my paint wasn't perfect, I wasn't in need of a new paint jjob so I am really angry this happened. Anyway, I am not going to ask them to do anything about it. Whenever I let somebody else do the work this kind of thing happens.

So are their any kits or similar experiences?

Are there any grease points in the rear, I still have some squeeking but no knocking?

Thanks for the help

no grease points in the rear, check your anti sway bar bushings at frame mounts, OEM bushings are rubber, they dry out and pack out over time, replacements are cheap, aftermarket Moog elastomer bushings fit tight, stopped my knocking and squeeking from the rear. Just crawl under and give the anti sway bar a shake near the frame mounts, there should not be any slop between the bar and the bushings. If there is, replace them.

$600 for struts is too expensive. I just did my struts myself and it cost me less than $300 in all parts + $65 alignment.

Thanks for the info on the sway bar, that sucks, I should have just done them myself.
