Default Humming Noise front and rear

I own a 00 es300 with 167k. My wife recently ran into a curb with the front right tire. She hit the curb with the side of the tire and then hopped over the curb before pulling it back onto the road.

Later that day the humming noise began from the front right while drive around 65-75. I drove it two days before taking it in. While taking it in I thought that I heard the right rear starting to hum.

The shop said everything looked fine but though maybe an adjustment would help. I had the adjustment done and the noise remained.

I took it in to another garage (referred by a friend) and they said it sounded like a classic wheel bearing issue. They replaced the front right wheel bearing but there is still a noise from the rear right tire. The garage also said the sway bar links were going bad and they could fix them for 142 a side and suggested I fix them sometime.

Does it sound like the rear could have a bad wheel bearing too? I never heard a hum before the accident and the right rear wheel never hit the curb.

Should I have the rear wheel bearing fixed too? I hate to keep putting money in to the car over and over.

I'm debating just fixing the sway bar links myself, easy job?

Thanks for any advice

Could be that by hitting the wheel/tire against the curb it threw the balance of the tire off..if that's the case then you should have picked up a little shake or vibration too. Just a shot in the dark but you could try taking your car in to have the wheels balanced. How hard did your wife I the curb? Another idea may be that the wheel is bent, which should be visible during wheel balancing.

No vibration or shake. The tire is just visually damaged. She hit the curb at about 20mph

Im looking to fix the sway bar links and rear wheel bearing myself. Any links or tips to help with this project would be appreciated.

Thanks

Here's a link to an excellent write-up on replacing a wheel bearing.

I'm in the middle of replacing my front bearings... project got delayed because I decided to replace the front struts while I had everything pulled apart.

A humming noise is not typical of a suspension problem. Can you perhaps describe it better

Also, a bad ball bearing usually sounds like a jet engine,

Could the rim have gotten bent? Maybe balancing the tire could help that. But if you throw it on a balancer and it needs a ton of weight, my guess is that the rim is bent.

Default All Fixed!

Put in a new rear wheel bearing and the front sway bar links today. The humming noise is completely gone now. The sway bar links rarely made any noise but they were undoubtedly shot. Thanks for all of the input.
