Idle at start

Hello,
There were plenty of threads on that topic before, here is the one with a few links. In short, it is normal for those cars to stay at 1500 RPM for a while, the exact time depends on the conditions the car is in, in the summer it can be as low as 4-5 minutes the last time I checked.
Hope this helps and best of luck!

After researching the IOC valve issue. The few I’ve read had issues of rough or low idle speed. Mine is high idle. About 1500 for ten minutes then it decreases. I’m thinking it doing what it’s suppose to. Just slam the transmission a little at first when putting into gear.

As for putting the car in gear, after some trials I learned that if you put it in gear right after startup, it is much easier on the car, meaning that you get quite a bit less of a jolt each time. Why that is, I have no idea..
Hope this helps and best of luck!
