Default There is no fuel pump relay in my car, yet car runs???

Boys and girls, I went to pull the relay for my fuel pump, so I can relieve the pressure to change the fuel filter, and when I opened the box where the relay is suppose to be, there is nothing there.. UH.. .How the heck is my car running if there is no relay? I have a 1996 ES300. Is this normal or do I have a car that is beating all odds. PLEASE HELP.

I think Lexus used the same fuseboxes for different models, so some cars didn't have all the relays that could be used. That's why it may appear that you're missing something. Also, you might be looking for the wrong relay. I know my 98 does not have a designated relay for the fuel pump.

You can pull up the rear sear cushion and disconnect the harness from the fuel pump, directly.

That seems to be the case. Thank you. Any advice on how to get the fuel line disconnected from the bottom of the fuel filter? I can't get the nut to budge!

It should be labeled "circuit opening relay" in the fuse box in the engine compartment.
