New guy with a question about "squeaky" suspension.
First off, this a great, very informative forum. I've been lurking for a couple months. Anyway, up here in Michigan its getting a bit chilly. As temps have dropped to the 20's I've picked up some squeaks (lolud) in both front and rear suspension, most noticeable when going over speed bumps and the like. It sounds to me like the bushings. I bought a used '98 (75K miles) which spent it's previous years out west, so this is probably the car's first taste of sub-freezing temps. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks in advance for any insights.

Dont worry about that at all.. Welcome to CL also... but anyway I live in chicago and my car has been doing that really bad also latley since it has been really cold. After i drive it for a while then it stops. So dont worry about that at all it is just the weather affecting that. If you have any more quistions about anything dodnt be afraid to ask any of us. Also if you do have quistions do a search first on this forum. Most of your quistions will most likely be answered already.

I started getting the squeakiness in the front suspension a couple years ago with my '91 LS . During the wintertime (anything below 60 degrees), it gets squeaky when hitting dips or going over speed bumps.
I've also heard it's the bushings.

my car is lowered 2in, and in the early morning, when its REAL COLD, I will notice a little bit of speaking when I go over the speed bumps @ work. Nothing to be alarmed about.....

Thanks for the responses. "Squeaking" is a verb which actually does not do this sound justice. It's pretty dang loud but, again, only at low temps. How many bushings are we talking about in the front and rear and how costly are they to replace? I would assume some are far simpler than others.
