Question What is this head unit??

I saw this head unit a long time ago on a thread. I would like to know if anyone knows what the make and model is? I am very much interested in getting it in my ES300. It's clean and got that 'stock' look. I would appreciate any feedback. It looks like the guy that originally posted this hasn't been on the site in months......

Thx

Looks like a generic chinese unit, probably you can either search ebay or go to aliexpress.com and find one just like it.

I checked but nothing specific or that clean. Anyone else know of this unit and maybe where to find it?

It's an older unit, newer ones have replaced it. This is almost exact: http://www.dhgate.com/product/2-din-...151521899.html

This one also: http://www.aliexpress.com/store/prod...445116495.html

Chinese generic unit.

wallpaper looks just ok, but GUI is usually pretty ugly on these units!! In fact its horrible most of the time.

Also, do you really want to take a chance on this china unit and having to replace it in a year / flush money down the drain ... all just to save 100$.. temporarily, but then having to pay more for a replacement unit? these are in the 200$ range if i remember correctly.

Warranty is not existent with these units i bet.

There are plenty of double din's in the sub 300 range from well known reliable brands.

I totally agree and way ahead of you. I wasn't aware it was an off brand. I am looking at the PIONEER AVIC-X920BT refurd right now. It's a clean look as well. Do you know if the surrounding face can be purchased like in the pic here?

you have to purchase a dash kit for your year lexus. I recently just put a head unit in my car and had to purchase the 1997 lexus es300 dash kit.

You can find it on ebay or amazon for $20

I put the 940 in the bosses vehicle. Nice unit and easy to work with. On the downside the screen is a bit smaller than the Kenwood I have in my ES and the screen is fixed. Functionally good unit though.

Yep...found it. Now if anybody figured out the wood issue for the same kit, I would be good to go. Have you heard of anything? Not the home made look i saw on a few blogs.

How is the sound by the way? I hear its better than the OEM if you get the buzz out if it. Did you use the ground loop units by chance? Want to get everything I need to get it right the first time.

In her vehicle I am using the on board amp, no buzz and sounds great. In my ES, I have a Kenwood and using the factory amps... ground loop isolators are a must. Sounds great though. Good luck. That Pioneer is a good unit.

New to the club, I posted this question on another thread this morning. I just added the RR tune and intake to my 2016 IS300 AWD, it has really awoken the car and worth every penny. However, the paddles will not upshift if in wide open throttle (WOT) I have shifted as early as 5,000 RPM and the gear number will change on the dash but the transmission does not shift and tack proceeds to 7200 until I let up so it can shift. I can upshift with the stick but curious has anyone else had this issue? If there is a tune for the transmission I am game, this is the only issue I have had and the car is a joy to drive now.
