Question Rolling and Shaving Fenders?

Ok if anyone follows my thread you know that i got a few weeks ago some 18x9.5 +22 wheels and for them to fit i need to roll and shave my fenders. Does anyone know how much i should shave off? Why would i need to shave them instead of just rolling? Details on what all needs to be done to fit the wheels I understand more camber stretched tires etc. I'm just needing info on the fender work? and one more thing with the wheels poking out so much how bad do these cars have rim slap? I guess that last question is to only a couple people that have there ES slammed.

Any help would be great
