Default Rough idle, no brake pedal movement

So I have a 2000 es300.
Only 87k on it, was driving and got a rough idle along with exhaust smell in cabin, cel and trac off lights. Timing belt was changed at 53k. I bought the car with 79k and I've changed the oil twice.

I'm getting error codes p0440, p0302, p1354.

I also changed the ocv's first time this occurred and it didn't fix the issue! Anyone got any suggestions?

When you say no brake pedal movement, do you mean none at all, or it feels like you've lost power brakes?

Maybe your brake booster is bad? Or it could be a vacuum leak going to the booster.

+1 That's exactly what I was going to say. Sometime's the obd 2 stuff is kind of a bad thing, it's often the simple stuff. Even on newer cars I think the brake booster has a vacuum line that runs right from the intake with nothing to hinder air flow like a valve or whatnot. and a vacuum leak would give you a pretty rough idle considering the size of the leak. could also give the misfire.

Through the marvels of modern complexity I wouldn't be surprised if the other stuff was somehow related. either way that's my $.02; simple check, simple fix. If not, consider having someone more qualified look at it?

Also, do a search online, not only on this forum either. OBD2 codes are universal and how systems are put together can carry across many different models and brands. Ever notice how almost everyone uses McPherson struts? This could be a common problem on a Ford with a similar layout or something.

+1 I bet it's a loose connection or a cracked hose.

Gave in and took it to lexus. They are saying that it is a bad o2 sensor in bank two.

When I say no brake pedal movement I mean when I am under 5 mph or at a stop I cannot depress the pedal and it feels like I have zero brakes.

$240 to fix, could have been worse I guess? Will let you know once I get "pearl" back if its truly fixed this time because replacing the OCV in bank 2 didn't do the trick the first time.

I would check the brake and bleed the fluid to start with as for the brake issue. If you aren't mechanic incline, take it to a local ma&pa shop to get it check rather than Lexus dealership because the price you pay for small one will save you an arm and leg. Keep us posted.

Default Still not fixed...

Ok, so here we are again. CEL and track off light back on again. Didn't even make it through a full weekend... Going to invest in a code reader at this point... I will let you know what codes I get this time.

What I do know: OCV bank 2 not the problem, it's been replaced. It's not the o2 sensor because that is what lexus just replaced.

They probably though it was the o2 sensor since there was probably a code for that bank running lean. I am thinking there is a serious vacuum leak somewhere there. Try to use some starter fluid around the intake checking the gaskets and all the vaccum lines.
Be careful though starter fluid on hot engine can ignite.

DG-

I went back to lexus this morning to have a "conversation" with them. Ran another diagnostic and found that I had a leaking vacuum hose. Anyways, they replaced the hose and didn't charge me a penny this time.

So, to recap, ocv bank 2, o2 sensor, and now vacuum hose. $385 later we'll give it a week and see what happens....

Default Update

About a month later and car is running great.... I probably spent too much money but its fixed now.... If you have a rough idle, lunging around 40mph @ 1500rpm, with no brake pedal when stopped, check all vacuum hoses before taking it anywhere...:
