Please clarify pulley bolt removal & other TB questions
So....in an ideal world one would just use an impact wrench (with no tool to hold pulley still) to pop that nut loose? If I didn't use a tool to hold pulley steady couldn't I potentially turn the crank backwards? Is this bad for the engine?
Any ideas on how to make on of these tools to hold the pulley still?
Will a bunch of coolant be lost if I change my water pump?
If I am doing the timing belt kit and the crankshaft seal...Would it be smart to also do the camshaft seals? If so, do I just remove the camshaft pulleys and pull the seals or is there more to it?
Thanks for any advice

If you've ever tried turning the engine over by hand you'll know it's no easy task. An impact tool will not turn the engine over backwards, If you've never used an impact tool I wouldn't know how to describe it, but this is the thing you'll buy one for if you don't have one already. otherwise, just put a breaker bar on it and blip the starter. careful doing this though, (idk if your motor is interference or not)
otherwise buy the tool or remove the starter and insert object to prevent turning motion.
Yes, you're going to want to drain the coolant first. if you're really tight on money and can't possibly afford new coolant, drain it into something clean. (I suggest new coolant though.)
I'd say go ahead and do them, you've already got most of the stuff out of the way. There would be others who will suggest leaving them if they are functioning properly. or if they had just been serviced (if they'd just been serviced leave them)
What year are we even talking about right now? (also, turning the engine over backwards (by accident or whatever) would not likely destroy your engine, although, everything is designed to only go one way, so probably not the best thing for it either.)
Anybody feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
