best value you'll ever see is cars 10+ years old that have literally almost no miles on them.
Ive had my eye on an SC430 with 17k miles (really... brand new, mint condition) for about $17,000. Its on autotrader, in TX.

Yeah but as is with old low miler's, the gaskets/seals/bushings will be more prone to cracking/leaking - theoretically. Not sure how Toyota's parts stand to the test of time with such little usage but that would be the one thing to steer me away from any old low mileage car. I'd almost always rather buy the higher mileage - yes, more wear & tear, but thing shave been used regularly as opposed to sitting for months/years? on end. This could very well be an estate sale special the PO's kids sold off/traded.

Ran perfect, mint condition, drove it 10,000 miles over three years, and then sold it off and made 7 grand over what I paid for it. Not a Single thing replaced.
I understand seals can go bad etc, but your still ahead of the game with ultra low miles vs hi miles, period.

^^People repeat this line all the time...about old low mileage cars and bad rubber stuff. What rubber parts wear out faster from non-use than use? Can't think of any. Should be no worse than any other 96 ES300 that hasn't had any of those rubber parts replaced.
I think that argument only makes sense in the context of buying an older low mileage car vs. a newer one. But if you want a nice 2ES that one is about as good as it gets. Of course you are better off with a newer Corolla with good rubber bushings.
