Unhappy i just think....(my view)

ever since i say the new avalon and specifically its tail lights i could'nt help but notice its similarities with our more specific 2000-2001 Es300 tail lights. Just look at them. So similar in design. Throw in LEDs, tweek things here and there and wallah a new design. i really felt bad that it was on a Toyota model and not on a ES .. I wished this design was on a 2002 onwards ES, that could have kept the ES tradition
what y'all think of it.

IMO the 00-01 ES was ahead of its time, not many cars were being designed as sleek as it was, especially with the exterior tweaks and available options. I'm talking Lexus in general, with the IS/ES/LS at the time.

Even the Avalon of the same generation which was priced similarly/more than the ES looked like it had a case of downs syndrome paired with obesity... and the interior?! Something out of a 90's taurus with the 3 person seating up front.

Besides the tail light arrangement, I think they are quite different.

I think the Gen 6 Camry (2007-11) reminds me more of the Gen 4 Camry (1997-01).

I still think the 3rd gen es is a great looking car, especially in a dark color. I actually think it was the best looking car of the lexus line at the time, i still think its better looking then the 2nd gen gs.

Hey now dont throw stones lol. I have a 01 avalon and thank god i have a floor shift and split seats. If this car had a Column shift and bench seats when i got it, i would've traded it a long time ago

But on a more serious note my avalon is a base model. its as loaded as a LE camry. and the interior is lackluster by today's or 2001's standards. but its quiet ...well until my exhaust is stirred.
