Default Noise After Crankshaft Pulley Recall?

Hi There, I'm not a mechanically handy person. Please share your advices. Many thanks in advance.

I took my ES330 (about 55000 miles only) to dealer for crankshaft pulley recall. After the recall, when I start my car in the morning, there is a very loud squealing noise. It goes away in about 5 seconds. It sounds like a slipped fan belt. This only happens when the engine is cold.

Here is my question. Does this noise have anything to do with the recall fix? Did the mechanic messed up? Or just a coincident that the belt wants to go bad now? What should I do?

Thanks

It could be a belt or one of the pulleys bearings needs to get greased. i would bring it back and let them know.. from the pulleys to the tensoiner arm..

There is no "fan" belt on your car.

The noise is coming from the alternator or power steering belt as a result of it not being tensioned properly after replacing the harmonic balancer. Have them re-tension the belts and see if the noise goes away.

Guys, thank you for the information. Here is another dumb question. I vividly remember reading from somewhere saying modern cars adjust belt tension automatically. Does my ES have such function? How likely the dealer misaligned the replacement pulley? I have the feeling that the dealer will take this opportunity to sell me a belt replacement job.

Thanks again
