Need a new key es300 2003
I need a new master ket for my lexus. Any suggestions? The dealer in San Diego just quoted me $187 for the key, $65 to cut it and about $270 to program it! Robbery!

As for the programing instructions, hypervish listed a link to his:https://www.clublexus.com/forums/es3...mobilizer.html

You can also get the key cut at the dealership for $30, or you can find a locksmith near you who can cut "sidewinder" keys. If you read my link, you would know how to program it! lol

Hypervish, thanks for reminding me to go to your link. It was helpful but raised another question. I've lose my master key. The only key I have now is the credit card or wallet key. What does it mean to "re-flash" the ECU?
I really appreciate your help! I'm new to San Diego and will have to figure out where to take the key to.
Thanks!

Some dealers will replace the ECU for free, and only charge labor, and parts cost for the key. Other dealers will re-flash the ECU, meaning they will basically do a full reset (not really a reset, but those are the simplest terms I can put it into). You maybe able to find a locksmith who has the ability to re-flash the ECU.
How are you starting the car? I thought the wallet key only worked for the doors.

Also, those master keys are just as expensive as you listed. I bought my grandmothers 2003 ES300 and she gave me the paper work for when she had to replace her master key. We bought her an uncut key on ebay and basically the dealership just cut it and reprogrammed it. The bill came out to $160

The wallet key works on starting the car, you just have to use the holder it comes in to disable the alarm system by holding it close to the ignition for a few seconds.

So I have a wallet key for my 2005 ES330 and I cannot get it to start the car. Light keeps flashing as if there is no key in the ignitiion. I have a master and valet key but I cannot figure out how to make the wallet key work. Is there a battery or something that needs to be replaced? Thanks!

Josh,
I've got a 2003 key and it still works so I don't think there is a battery. My guess is you aren't following the directions on the key exactly. I know i mess it it up sometimes. The mistake I usually make is not doing it within the allotted time.
Good luck!

Try this site. I used it to program my key and it worked, while other sites had wrong information posted

Key Programming
You can not program this key yourself. You will need to take your car and key to either the dealer or to a local locksmith that has the Lexus programming software
Thanks for your help though.
