You can reset the ecu by removing the EFI (15amp) fuse for 15-30 seconds. The fuse box is just right beside the battery.

thanks! all done. switched the sensor and the air filter (it was due). a 10 minute job, no check engine light (so far) and it just drives SO much better now... smooth, no hesitation .... its amazing what a sensor and basic maintenance will do for an old car !
