I'm probably going to deal with GROM, get the unit reflashed by them (send it to them), and sell the device. I need to get the microphone uninstalled as it is still in my car. It was one big PITA to do, too.
Now, even though it is more expensive, I'm looking at doing a new head unit that has CarPlay capabilities.

I figure that, now. Ugh. I can't get a refund, only an exchange, and Autotoys.com customer service sucks. Horribly.

Yup. All they are doing is telling me that I'm switching modes wrong and aren't listening to anything else I'm trying to tell them or explain to them.
My plan is to hopefully work with GROM directly to get the unit reflashed so I can sell it, or, get PayPal involved as I did buy the damn thing with my PayPal card.

Good news. Looks like after some pressure from PayPal, I can get a refund (less return shipping) for my order from Autotoys.com! I just have to pack things up, and ship them back, so I can get my money (or as much of it as i can) back.

GROM-BTD won't connect to sound system
Hi Fritz330. I had the same issue as you - 2005 ES330 with ML. Had Best Buy install GROM-USB3 with GROM-BTD bluetooth dongle. GROM unit would not communicate with the sound system but otherwise we could tell it was working. What was your solution? Did you go with something else and have success? Thanks.
