2002 ES300 Timing Belt and ?? Replacement
My recently acquired ES has 33K but is 11 years old. It has been recommended in the forums that a car this old should have the timing belt replaced. I've got a local Lexus mechanic in mind. I would furnish the parts.
I'm wondering what else should be replaced at the same time. Probably not the water pump?? Crank and camshaft seals (expensive labor)?? Idler and tensioner pulleys?? I've been looking at the Sewell parts catalog and this is where I get confused- "timing belt #1, #2," etc.
I would be grateful if some helpful Forum member could give me the Sewell parts numbers (five digits) for the parts they recommend.
Thank you- Richard

The third or 4th post had recommended parts to replace.

On a 10 year old car, I'd also suggest replacing all of the water hoses.

At only 33K miles, I personally would only change the belts (timing and engine). Have them take a close look at the hoses too.
It will probably cost a lot more to do the seals, especially the cam seals.

i would never service off mileage alone. you will run into problems. that is why most manufacturers recommend servicing at mileage or time, whichever comes first.
you are long overdue.

I prefer OEM parts, but if they are the same as in the kit above, why buy it for $300-$400 from dealer if I could buy absolutely the same kit for $140-$180?
