DIY it. It is fairly simple to do. Search up Morimoto Mini H1's and that should give you some motivation

^ that's what i've been wanting to do for 3years now.

Just always miss out on a deal or the ****s won't ship outside the USA since they're afraid to fill out one more short form and forever lose my business in the process.

Here is how it's done if you choose the stock HID reflective housing route:

In regards to modifications, I basically had to remove some padding to fit in the left side assembly and purchase some extended length screws to allow me to fit the thicker non-OEM ballast underneath the assembly. I left the DRL bulb cap off to run wires through, otherwise it's pretty air tight. I tucked all the wires inside the assembly, and with the ballast hidden underneath you can't tell it's not 100% stock, when in reality it's actually pretty damn close.

Here are the pics. The result is very impressive, much better beam pattern and visibility with far less glare than the halogen assemblies with HID's. I'm even gonna raise the elevation to get another 10-15 feet of visibility. The only issue I have at this point is the drivers side assembly is a little dirtier underneath. If anyone knows how to remove the front cover and clean under there I'd much appreciate it.

hmm... I'm a little disappointed... I expected the light to beam out a little better. I guess I might as well do the retro fit

That's a $200 camera that cuts down the visible light...it's impossible to take a representative picture of the beam pattern with the equipment I have. The beam pattern is a huge improvement over the stock halogen housings with or without HID's.

I'd say the beam pattern is good on the stock HIDs, cut-off not as sharp as an HID projector.

I agree, but its soo hard to find the OEM hid lights. I would assume the retrofit may be a litre cheaper. btw thank you for the pics. helped out a lot on what route I wana go

They are not hard to find at all. Camp out on EBay, look at all the "w/o HID ES300 headlight" auctions with pics of the cars in the junkyard, where they remove the lights after you buy them, When you see that the car has HIDs, buy 'em! Lots of HIDs listed that way the junkyards don't know.

Edit: Here is an example. I think I actually bought the right one off this car, I wanted both but the guy told me the left had a broken tab so I let it go.

There are a number of decently priced units where the seller knows what they have too.
