Just bought Lexi! Cooling fan question

I just bought her today . 2000 es300. After test drive I notices cooling fans were not turning. It was 56 degrees outside and temp gauge was below half mark. I was wondering when should these be on?

Welcome to Club Lexus!

If the temp gauge was below half-way then the fans will not turn on.

You can test the fans by turning the A/C on.

Perfect!! Thank u! I will check that!! I've been lurking here for a while and joined today after buying the car! I had to make a 4 hr drive to get her. Taking her home tomorrow!

Should both fans be on when air is on?

There are temp sensors that will kick on the fans when temperature reaches a certain degree. If you let car idle long enough the fans will come on. Both fans will run when A/C is on.
