Today while in a parking lot, one of the two straps holding up my gas tank snapped, i assume due to rust. The other was still attatched, but i left it and will use AAA to pick it up later. My question is has this happened to anyone before? If not and you live in the rust belt, this is definitely something i would check on. Its a 2001 with 199k miles

That's pretty cool, I always wondered if that actually happens to people. Mine looked pretty solid, the last time I checked.

I never checked, to be honest, it was really not on my list of concerns, just glad it happened in a parking lot and not driving to new jersey when i go next weekend

Got replaced for $240. it could have been less but i would have to wait on the parts to come in so i said screw it buy whatever you can and put them on today.
