Question 92 ES300 transmission issue

i was driving along around 35 arterial speed when i noticed that my car was slowing?
i tried to accelerate but it only seemed to keep slowing down, finally shirting down. i was forced
to pull off, parked for a few minutes then attempted to continue. i started off but could not get
up to the posted speed. i had to creep home barely, thinking that any minute the car would stop.
i recently had the trans lines flushed by a shop. 2 -3 months ago.

trans fluid looked normal afterward when i checked it, maybe a bit low but not sure which pegs on stick were 'what' so i am going to check it again tomorrow when its light. it did not seem that
low though. also, it seems there was some extra exhausted when this happened. Water level was a little down as was the engine oil? not much, just a bit down.

any ideas why my tranny would seem to not allow the car to keep speed? the engine seemed to be running smooth at the time and it felt like it was the trans? had a rebuilt engine put in almost a year ago too.

any ideas?

Could be a broke timing belt, can you rev it park or neutral?

When you accelerate does the engine rev high but the car barely moves as if the transmission is slipping? Does the car shift through the gears?
