It's behind the glovebox.

Ok, I was wondering if replacing the cabin air filter on a 1996 ES was that easy?

Ah, found an old thread showing that mine is the model where it's under the gas pedals and it looks a little harder.

Yea my 3ES also has it behind the gas pedal. It's a bit of a pain to get under there, but not too bad.

Make sure you set your A/C into the Recirculating Mode, before pulling the filter out.

Mileage. I believe Toyota recommends to change it every 16k miles. If you're not sure, take it out and look at it.

Why? I have done it about 12 times with it in NON Recirculating Mode..no issues in 250K miles.

Toyota recommends you use all there products..along with Toyota approved tire air! LOL.

But I agree, take it out and look at it..So far, my old 98 is the best to get too...about 15 seconds.

I've done it on the newer Lexus models and they all had to be in the Recirculating Mode. So I just wanted to throw that out there in case you run into trouble. For example, on the 2IS, if you try to remove the filter in the Fresh Air Mode, you will damage the blower. In fact it's almost impossible to remove the filter in that mode.

got ya! I have not done my 350 but my 330 and 300 just pull out and put a new one in. So far, still like the org 300 the best.. I hate the 330...the sulfer smell and crappy shifting/accel is the worst ever.
