How does your car even start?

On a different note, is the CT200h your personal car? What do you think of it? And does it have a temperature control for its batteries?
It starts with little hesitation! I added the battery insulation as a precaution. Since adding the insulation in engine bay it gets to temp much faster, within two mins I'm good to go.

And yes, very cold. My city was colder than Mars & the south pole the last couple days.

The ct is what my dad and I got for my mom. Its awesome as a out-around-town car for sure. Gets good mileage. I like it a lot and drive it ever so often. I wish it would've been the tech package but the base is still good value for what it is. I'm unsure about the temp thing for the batteries, they perform better when colder supposedly since they get hot. Which makes sense since many of the southern us hybrids have had their batteries changed once already with under 100k miles.

I'll see how much it costs to operate overtime. 10k mi oil change intervals, spark plugs at 160k mi. Not much to do or go wrong with it. I will be cutting that oil change interval in half though, should work out to 2 oil changes a year regardless.

I will say it is pretty gutless though. Driving my dads RX or my ES you can tell there's a lack of power. Buuuuut, 40+ MPG = fair trade off!

My ES330 barely started this past week when we were in the -20C's and windchill -33C. It would struggle to turn over a few times before starting, I feel the battery is getting weak.

I cringed at the sound it made, but today I switched to synthetic oil so hopefully that'll help.

On the other hand, 1MZ Solara with an 8 month old battery started right up even after sitting a few days in the cold .

See if you can get a replacement battery under warranty. Mine sounded like it was struggling at 9F, which was a bit of a surprise. The battery is only a couple of years old.

got a little thump in the trunk now

It's a 12", in a box, powered by an amp. That's all I know.

My installer kept my OE sub running with this one, as it retained the 'integration harness', during initial play it was fine but closer listening would produce cancellation of frequencies. Didn't feel like doing it properly in messing about with the rear decklid, as its;
cold, and would break something, so i cut the wires going into the sub. No more OEM subwoofer.

I am officially "done" with the car. Now it'll be absolute bare necessities maintenance.

Well today I went to start my ES, it struggled. When it started, I noticed my climate control was reset to 25C and my stereo was reset. Must have meant the battery was drained

Got my 'forum price' full asking, through a referal of a [local] forum user whom I don't even know.

Got my 4k, no negotiations. Guy came, drove it on a Sunday, picked it up Tuesday. Paid for the safety as well, 370$. No questions. Super easy to sell. He's enjoying it.

Conversely, he did get a 'deal' despite mileage and what carfax states. I 'over-repaired' this thing...

Did an LS400-style-taillight setup; [top & bottom rows have bulbs & light up as running lights]

Mid-late summer 2013; Did my climate control bulbs in white LED's [only for them to fail four months later], and got a nice Kenwood deck - because **** tape adapters!

Beginning 2014 wanted more bass, waited around looking for a 'small' enclosure, but the price I got this one for, i made the exception;

February 2014, you can see my grill block, changed the battery the other day as it died on the weekend;
Where did you get that bottom grill block? Also, isn't that bad for the car?

Don't know if you'll ever see or respond to this, but why do you have the images of the car blurred out? I love to look at this thing, but now I can't

What do you mean?
I can see (most) images, some have weirdly disappeared.

Either way, they're hosted on photobucket. PB became AIDS a couple years ago, blocking people.from seeing images if it hits too much bandwidth. I won't be paying to host pics...

Maybe I'll get to it in a year or two...
