This may be a long shot but I think if he has an 05 with Mark levinson audio AND navigation then the cd changer is whee he says it is... in the center console between the front seats.....

I am really sorry but as far as I know there is no fix for the center console changer.. just to replace it. The fix I know of would apply to a non nav and non ML system

if theres no fix then i guess its ok....but if i can find a way to remove the cd changer then that would be a big help. But big thanks to PATSUM and RLX101...
