Default 2002 Lexus es 300 Bluetooth

Hi all,
First post here so forgive me if I break any rules. I've been looking online for the past 3 hours for help with this and haven't found a lot of GOOD info so I'm hoping that you guys can help.

Bought a 2002 lexus es300 and I would like to integrate my phone with it via bluetooth. I currently have an rf adapter installed but the aux jack it in the center console and the wire is getting annoying.

I would like a unit that allows handsfree calling as well and music streaming and will integrate with the stock head unit.

Additionally, was wondering about my options for mounts, I've heard pro.fit makes pretty good ones.

I would also like to hardwire a USB charger close to where the phone is mounted (ideally on the passenger side of the HU). I have an android phone right now but plan to upgrade to an iphone once my contract is up (I will also be ditching AT&T as well). So I would like to be able to swap out the charger pretty easily. Just not sure what my options for this are, I've never hardwired anything.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

the only way to do the bluetooth portion would be to buy a bluetooth/aux in adapter from GROM audio. It installs plug and play in the back of your head units cd changer. no splicing or cutting. Takes about 15 minutes to put in.

well worth the money for me

good luck

Thanks for the suggestion. I ended up going with a DriveNtalk unit
Amazon Amazon
. Picked up a quick connect harness which is supposed to make it plug n play. Ended up being $200 altogether for the harness and unit but it will give me everything I was looking for so well worth it in my opinion.

One question though for the install. Where did you mount your Grom unit and where did you mount the microphone for the Bluetooth? I was thinking about putting it on the roof near the driver's side door but I was worried about routing the wire with the side airbags.

I ran the wires under the center console trim and mounted my unit inside the center console. I just use the unit for playback of aux input music.. not calling, I am sorry I cannot help with mic placement.

Patsum,

I was looking at the Lexus/Toyota Grom, and it does not show compatibility for the 2002 ES300. It shows newer ES cars but not for 2002. Can you tell me which one to use? I do not have the navigation system. I'm simply looking to add bluetooth to my regular stock stereo.

Here is the website I was on:

http://www.gromaudio.com/store/usb_a...interface.html

Thanks!!

I followed this advice and ended up with the wrong cable and had to spend an extra $25 on a new harness. Check the wire harness compatibility. My 2002 lexus es300 needed the 'toy1' cable and the 2004 es330 chart indicates a 'toy' cable. If you order directly from grom their compatibility check should order it with the correct harness but if you order it from amazon like I did for a little cheaper, the 2002 es300 does not accept the same as the 2004 es330 harness. Hope this helps anyone from making the same mistake I made.

Default 1997 es 300

Hi All,

Will any of these solutions work for a 1997 ES 300 (with CD changer in the glove compartment)?

Thanks!

Your best bet is probably to hard wire an AUX cable to the input of your CD changer, or the TAPE reader head inside the head unit. Here's how I did it on my Solara:

Do you have a video of the exact same process on a 02-06 ES300 / ES330 vs the older model ?
Does this completely disable the tape player ?
